Cranbrook is staying with Stage 2 water restrictions as creek flow into the Phillips Reservoir isn’t increasing.
The reservoir continues to fluctuate between water spilling over the dam spillway and not.
Consumption has seen a bit of an increase since the last update in July.
Flow through the Phillips Reservoir sits at 23.02 million litres per day which is an increase of 6.55 million litres.
However, it’s still a 584,895 million litres per day decrease compared to the same time last year.
“I want to thank all of our residents and businesses, who have done all they can to help us conserve water this summer,” said Mayor Wayne Price.
“The efforts our community have made around consciously watering less is having an incredibly positive impact on the Phillips Reservoir and our City’s water supply. Without your support our situation would have been quite different heading into the fall. Thank you!”
Even-numbered properties can water on Monday and Thursday while odd-numbered properties can water on Tuesday and Friday.
Watering times are from 5-10 a.m. or 8-11 p.m., for a maximum of two hours total.
