Bucks looking for billets ahead of season start

The Cranbrook Bucks are looking for more billet families to take in athletes.

“A big billet push right now from both the Bucks and our academy team. There are a lot of young athletes who are looking for a place to stay,” Bucks president and owner Nathan Lieuwen.

“If you have a spare room in our house and want a nice young man who is very motivated in what they do to be a part of your family then we’d love to hear from you.”

Being a billet includes monthly compensation, discounts on concession and merch and season tickets for the household.

Lieuwen said it can have a lasting impact.

“I appreciate so much what my billets did when I was here, not just housing me but the relationship that becomes a lifetime.”

The Bucks are also getting ready for their annual golf tournament.

It will be at the Cranbrook Golf Club on Sept. 6 and all proceeds go towards the Bucks’ education fund.
