Community Engagement Coordinator hired by Cranbrook RCMP

The Cranbrook RCMP has hired Melody Munro to be the detachment’s new community engagement coordinator.

“The addition of the Community Engagement Coordinator position will assist Cranbrook RCMP and the City of Cranbrook in playing a more effective role in crime prevention and reduction,” said S/Sgt. Barry Graham.

“Not only will this role increase the number of crime prevention programming, but it will also increase public engagement and visibility in the community.”

She will be overseeing the new auxiliary program, citizens on patrol, the stolen auto recovery program and crime prevention and education.

“This position directly aligns with council’s strategic priority to build a safe and vibrant community in which to live and work,” said Mayor Wayne Price.

Munro was previously a community policing constable with the Cranbrook RCMP and the RDEK’s emergency services coordinator and director.
