Elk Valley RCMP officials say the break-in happened shortly before 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 4.
The suspect, who was wearing dark clothes and carrying a hammer, was caught on video surveillance.

The man stole several bike parts and fled the scene.
Police said the damage plus stolen goods resulted in a loss of over $5,000.
The vehicle was equipped with black hubcaps and a white card in the front window.
The suspect was wearing dark clothes and some sort of face covering at the time of the theft.
