Wildfire mitigation work starting soon in Wasa Lake area

Provincial Wildfire Risk Reduction crews will be conducting mitigation work in the Wasa Lake area.

Work will cover approximately 22.2 hectares of land north and east of Wasa Lake.

Crews will be removing surface-level fuels and widening the space between trees.

The brush will be stacked up in areas that won’t add to the fire risk.

They will be burnt when the weather permits for adequate venting.

Residents may still see some increased smoke in the area.
