Kimberley’s 2023 Annual Report and Financial Statements, highlighting the city’s big accomplishments for the year, is open for public feedback.

The report details Kimberley’s audited finances for the year and measures the delivery of municipal services.

The report highlights a significant upward trend in the city’s growth in recent years, with construction value jumping from $35.4 million in 2022 to $54.77 million in 2023.

Housing also saw a big increase in new housing units.

“We hit record levels for the number of new dwellings last year, I think we hit 154,” said Mayor Don McCormick.

“I think our previous best year was dating back to when the resort was built in the early 2000s, with about 84. This was an incredible year for adding doors for folks wanting to live in Kimberley.”

The city’s tourism sector has also seen a major recovery since the COVID-19 pandemic, with over 15,500 visitors at the Tourism Centre in 2023 versus 4,170 in 2020 and 10,838 in 2022.

The report also highlights some of Kimberley’s major projects and funding announcements, such as the over $66 million in grant funding for its future wastewater treatment plan.

Feedback on the 2023 annual report is open until Monday, and you can submit your thoughts here.
