The District of Elkford is taking its building permitting online to streamline the process.
Elkford officials said the District has partnered with Cloudpermit to revamp and speed up applications.
The software allows you to submit forms online, where you can monitor their progress and communicate with the building inspector.
This comes as B.C. is rolling out its own online permitting software, separate from Cloudpermit.
Premier David Eby said this process will help speed up new homes and other new construction.
“One of the things I hear from homebuilders and homeowners is that the biggest challenge they face is just getting the permits to do the work,” said Eby.
“That challenge is one that prevents the homes we desperately need from getting built.”
The provincial government’s new process is not affiliated with Elkford’s Cloudpermit, as it is only being introduced in a few communities in the Lower Mainland before it is phased province-wide.
