District of Sparwood residents can now see what was inside a 40-year-old time capsule sealed in the Greenwood Mall back in 1984.
The time capsule was unsealed back in March, but the city needed time to protect the documents.
“We’ll scan all the documents to preserve them and then we’ll turn them over to the Sparwood museum and they’ll catalogue them all and keep them for historical purposes,” said Mayor David Wilks.
A display at the Sparwwod Museum will be ready soon.
In the meantime, all of the scanned documents are available on the district website.
It includes a number of newspapers, council documents and letters from different community groups.
