Kimberley firefighters have snuffed out a woodland fire near Sullivan Landing in Townsite.
City officials said Kimberley Fire Department crews sprung into action shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The team took down the blaze and some members remained on the scene to monitor for any lasting hot spots.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
“The area had received no lightning, and arson is not suspected at this time,” said city staff.
“Fire crews are grateful for the public’s quick response in notifying the Fire Department, which played a crucial role in preventing the fire from spreading.”
