The Fernie Ghostriders are bearing down as they get set to clash with the Revelstoke Grizzlies in the Teck Cup Finals.
“It’s going to be a good series,” said head coach Ty Valin.
“They’re a good hockey team and they play a very physical style of play. Their rink is loud like ours is.”
The Ghostriders will have their work cut out for them as the Grizzlies finished second in the league standings and recently knocked off the first-place Princeton Posse in seven games.
The Ghostriders have done a good job of keeping their series short and have yet to go to a Game 7.
Valin said it helps them get rested for the next round.
“Anytime you come out of a tough division or conference like we have on this side the extra rest is always critical,” he said.
“The boys are getting tired, sore and banged up but Revelstoke is in the same situation as us. Rest is ultimately vital this time of the year.”
Game 1 of the Teck Cup Final is on April 5 in Revelstoke. Fernie will be back home for Game 3 on April 8.
