Columbia Valley RCMP arrested three suspects involved in a vehicle theft, with one of them getting arrested for a separate vehicle theft the next day.
Columbia Valley RCMP officials said the Kimberley detachment called on Jan. 18 about a vehicle stolen from their jurisdiction and believed to be in the Canal Flats area.
The vehicle was found shortly after, and the driver fled from police, only to be found again later in Invermere.
All three suspects were arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Police officials said a search of the vehicle turned up firearms and drugs.
The suspects were brought before the court and multiple charges have been recommended.
The next day, one of the three suspects stole another vehicle in Invermere and took off towards Cranbrook.
Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver kept going and began driving erratically.
Police said the suspect was later found and arrested by Kimberley RCMP while he was hitchhiking on the highway.
The man is facing several more charges.
