Rob Morrison Sworn In as Kootenay-Columbia’s MP

Following his victory in the 2019 federal election, Rob Morrison has since been sworn into office as Kootenay Columbia’s Member of Parlament.

Speaking of the ceremony on Friday, November 29, 2019, Morrison said the ceremony was almost a surreal experience for him.

“I have quite a few friends that were excited to come and see the event,” Morrison said. “You think it’s just a signature, but the fact that your signature is one of the 338 parliamentarians for the 43rd Parliament of Canada, that’s really something.”

“I’m confident that I can work with the people we need to make some headway so we can resolve some of the issues we have in our area,” said Morrison.

Morrison said he will address pressing needs within the riding.

“My priorities are the issues that we know are a problem right now, which we know are softwood lumber, mining, tourism, and immigration for our farmers. There are some issues I can deal with right now,” Morrison said.
