Fernie Search and Recue find missing Montana man alive

Fernie Search and Rescue found an 87-year-old man who was missing from Eureka, Montana since Saturday.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, the man went missing from the Frozen Lake area, about 20 kilometres east of Eureka on Saturday.

The missing man’s son called Montana police and said his father did not return after picking mushrooms with a friend.

Fernie SAR officials said they responded to a report of an elderly man in distress near the Wigwam River on Tuesday, three days after he initially went missing.

He was assessed and brought to the Roosville Border Station.
