The City of Kimberley is welcoming a new fire chief into the role, who boasts a background in fire and emergency management.
City officials said Will Booth will come into the position after being with Kiberley’s fire department since 2016.
“He was quickly promoted to Assistant Fire Chief just one-year later upon demonstrating valuable skills and abilities,” said the City of Kimberley. “As Fire Chief, Booth will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the department, including ensuring the safety and well-being of Kimberley residents.”
“I am honoured to step into this leadership role and have the opportunity to work with the Kimberley Fire Department in this capacity,” said Booth. “I intend to drive the Department toward meeting the community’s needs and look forward to working with everyone.”
Booth also has expertise in fire prevention, emergency management, and risk assessment, which city staff said will make him valuable for maintaining a high standard of public safety.
“We are very happy to have Will as our new Fire Chief,” said City CAO Scott Sommerville. “His experience, dedication and strategic vision makes him the ideal candidate to lead our fire department. We have complete confidence in his ability to ensure the safety of our community and to foster a culture of preparedness.”
