Invermere’s Five-Year Budget Survey Closes November 20

Invermere said it has been looking for feedback from residents through online and paper surveys to get ideas on where its funding will focus.

Council will use feedback to plan a budget for 2020 to 2024 around what residents want.

“We always like to know what the issues are and what people’s thoughts and what they figure the needs of the town are,” said Allen Miller, Mayor of Invermere. “We put the survey out to let our residents give us a bit of an indication as to what else they would like to have dealt with.”

Miller encourages residents to put their opinions forward through to help the council make its decision.

“Some folks might have some other ideas that we need to be looking into,” explained Miller. “We’re leaving it wide open for people to come back to us with their thoughts.”

Miller added that he is optimistic about what the public has to say.

“We want to hear from people. We’re fully transparent, we’re trying to get the word out about what our thoughts are,” concluded Miller. “We’re anticipating some people coming back with some great ideas, and maybe even some solutions with them.”

The survey is available here until 4:30 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
