Section of Fernie’s 4th Street to close for infrastructure work

Fernie’s 4th Street between 6A and 6th Avenue will be closed to traffic until Thursday.

City officials said the road closure will give Fortis BC crews space to install gas services to a new house.

The road will be closed until about 4 p.m. on Thursday, with a detour in place directing traffic along 6A and 6th Avenue.

“We will be plowing and sanding 6A Avenue to ensure safe conditions for the increased traffic during the period of the road closure,” said city staff. “Please follow signage and give the crews on-site space to safely complete the work.”
