Kimberley RCMP investigating shot dog

A dog survived a gunshot wound near Kimberley and RCMP is trying to find who may have been involved.

Kimberley RCMP officials said the incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday, when a local man was taking his dog for a walk along Houle Creek Forest Service Road.

“The owner was driving his vehicle alongside his dog when he heard a gunshot and the dog came running towards him bleeding from the face,” said Kimberley RCMP.

The dog survived, as the owner rushed his pet to Cranbrook for emergency surgery.

Kimberley RCMP is asking anyone with information on this incident to come forward.
