River Forecast Centre downgrades flood warning for Elk River

The flood warning for the Elk River and flood watches for other areas in the East Kootenay have been downgraded.

The Elk River, West Kootenay and East Kootenay have been downgraded to a High Streamflow Advisory.

The flood watch has been ended for the Upper Columbia including the Kicking Horse River, Illecillewaet River and tributaries around Invermere, Radium, Golden and Revelstoke.

Officials say some areas remain high but are not anticipated to reach flood stage.
