Despite sustained rainfall overnight, City of Fernie staff say the Elk River is at normal spring freshet levels.
Crews will continue monitoring levels throughout the day and work on sandbagging efforts.
City of Fernie staff say they plan on completing the first level of sandbagging along the lower areas of the West Fernie Dike.
The city also received 1000 metres of gabion baskets from the province to help protect the Coal Creek bin wall, which was compromised during November’s rain event.
Trucks were brought in and refilled the self-fill sandbag stations for residents looking to protect their property.
All trail closures remain in place.

City staff say the closure of Coal Creek Road past the intersection with River Road Extension has been extended.
There are no other road closures from flooding in Fernie.
The city recommends signing up for the Regional Evacuation Notification System in case conditions worsen.
