Elk Valley RCMP nab three impared drivers in one night

Three drivers were arrested in Elkford by Elk Valley RCMP in one night after they got behind the wheel while impaired.

Officials said the first collision was called in around 1:30 a.m. on June 3rd, when a vehicle struck a retaining wall on Alpine Drive in Elkford.

Police said a witness on the scene reported that a man and woman were outside their white BMW and were waiting for help.

At the same time, a second collision involved an overturned Mitsubishi on Alpine Way, a short way down the road from the first collision. Police said a truck on the scene was trying to roll the Mitsubishi over.

“A witness to the second collision advised the RCMP that he had heard a loud screech and a crash. When RCMPolice arrived, a blue Mitsubishi Lancer was on its roof at the bottom of the hill. Next to it was a Ford pickup truck attempting to roll the Lancer onto its wheels,” said RCMP officials.

According to RCMP officials, officers arrived at both ancient scenes and determined that all of the people involved appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

They were arrested at the scene for impaired driving.

All three drivers were given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days.

No serious injuries were reported from the accidents.
