Drivers travelling along Highway 3 through the Elk Valley might face some delays on Tuesday.
Mainroad East Kootenay officials said the highway east of Elko will be closed for up to two hours sometime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
After that, there will be 15 to 20-minute closures until about 6 p.m.
Officials said they are closing the road to make sure drivers stay safe while rock blasting and slope stabilization work is going on.
Drivers are asked to use caution through construction zones and respect all signs and on-site staff.
