The Kimberley Fire Department was quick to respond after calls of a gas leak at the site of the 4th Avenue Rehabilitation Project.
Getting the call around 11:12 am on Friday, September 13, 2019, firefighters from the Kimberley Fire Department, as well as crews from FortisBC got to the site and took control of the scene.
“After a brief road closure, the gas release was contained and no evacuations were necessary,” said the City of Kimberley.
As of 3:00 pm on Friday, FortisBC was continue to work on the gas line as about 10 customers were affected, eventually seeing their gas restored.
There were no reported injuries as a result of the gas leak.
