Special weather statement in effect for:
- Highway 3 – Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass
Snow to continue today and tonight as an area of low pressure moves across the southern interior.
Moisture from the system combined with snow levels near 1300 metres will bring snow over higher elevations of Highway 3 near Kootenay Pass and Paulson Summit.
Accumulations of 10 to 20 cm of snow over higher elevations can be expected by late Sunday afternoon.
Surfaces such as highways may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
