Cranbrook Aquatic Centre Closed Indefinitely

UPDATE: Cranbrook Aquatic Centre Closure Impacted by $1.72 Million Roof Repairs (September 10, 2019)

Original Story:

The City of Cranbrook is closing the Aquatic Centre at Western Financial Place as of 12:00 pm on Monday to the public, until further notice is given.

Completing construction work on the roof last week, the City of Cranbrook was forced to close the facility and cancel all swimming lessons and classes on Thursday and Friday due to “falling debris”.

“Due to heavy rains and the construction work on the roof of Western Financial Place last week, the City has decided to close the pool beginning at noon today until further notice,” said the City of Cranbrook. “All lessons, activities and programs scheduled for the aquatic centre have been cancelled.”

Anyone that has questions or concerns is asked to directly contact the Cranbrook Aquatic Centre desk at 250-489-0220 or at 250-489-0221.

“Parents, students and schools registered in these programs will be contacted directly by aquatic centre staff,” added the City of Cranbrook. “We apologize for any inconvenience or any confusion this closure may cause.”

More information is expected to be shared at Cranbrook City Council on Monday about the recent Aquatic Centre closures last week and now this week.
