Cranbrook RCMP are investigating four new reports related to the circulation of counterfeit $100 bills that were previously identified in Kimberley.
According to RCMP the four new reports all came in over the past week, while the counterfeit bills were initially found in Kimberley back on August 13th.
“Cranbrook RCMP would like to remind the public to carefully inspect all currency upon receipt,” said Cranbrook RCMP. “Report any counterfeit bills immediately.”
Those that may have information related to the counterfeit bills are asked to contact the Cranbrook RCMP detachment at 250-489-3471.
Cranbrook RCMP also provided the following resources to help identify counterfeit bills and what to do if you’re in an interaction with someone attempting to use the counterfeit cash.
