Irrigation Ban Imposed in Radium Hot Springs

The Village of Radium Hot Spring has imposed an irrigation ban within the community in an attempt to lessen the strain on their water treatment plant.

Noting that turbidity and sediment levels remain very high from their water source in Forster’s Creek, the drinking water plant is having a challenge meeting the Village’s demands for water.

“We are asking everyone to stop irrigating, so as to ease the pressure on the water treatment plant,” said the Village of Radium Hot Springs. “The turbidity levels in Forster’s Creek are gradually diminishing and we expect that the water treatment plant will be able to return to full capacity within a few days.”

The Village is thanking the public for their assistance and compliance to the irrigation ban as they continue to work through the increased turbidity and sediment levels at the plant.
