Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting’s Paving Program is already well underway for the 2019 summer season, as crews will be working on Wycliffe Park Road and Mission Road in the coming days, as well as near Moyie, Elko and Galloway.
Paving on Wycliffe Park Road will begin Saturday, August 17th and will avoid any interference with the Cranbrook Pro Rodeo in the evening. Work will then continue on the road on Monday, August 19th.
Work on Mission Road towards St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino will begin Monday and continue through until Thursday as the road will be single lane alternating for base construction and paving.
Mainroad will also be sending crews down Highway 3 on Monday as well to begin paving and patching in various locations between Moyie and Yahk.
On Tuesday, August 20th, Mainroad crews will be west of Elko along Highway 3 paving westbound, in the northbound lane on Highway 93 approaching the Highway 3/93 junction near Elko, and also at the Galloway passing lane.
“Please watch for work zones and obey orange construction signage,” said Mainroad East Kootenay. “Work will be conducted by Mainroad road crews, as well as subcontracted paving crews which Mainroad Operations will oversee. No excessive noise or bright lights overnight will occur.”
“Finally, please remember your responsibility as a driver to obey traffic control persons, and to “Slow Down and Move Over” for all roadside workers,” added Mainroad. “These laws are in place to help ensure the safety of your passengers as well as our crews.”
Mainroad East Kootenay said that anyone that may have further questions about the paving program can contact the 24-hour hotline at 1-800-665-4929 to provide any feedback or observations that can be passed along through the appropriate channels.
