47-year-old man drowns at Windermere Community Beach

A 47-year-old man has drowned at Windermere Community Beach over the weekend.

Columbia Valley RCMP officials said the detachment responded alongside Emergency Health Services and Windermere Fire Rescue on Saturday, June 29.

The man was taken to the hospital, then STARS Air Ambulance transported him to Calgary Foothills Hospital.

He was pronounced deceased at the hospital in Calgary.

Investigators believe the man drowned while suffering a medical event while he was in the water.

Police officials said there was nothing suspicious regarding the man’s death.
